Our last Advent evening service is this Sunday. See the sidebar for specifics. Last week our small gathering sang, prayed and talked. Pastor Matt guided us along and we shared some readings, poems and stories. We looked at artwork. We reflected and prayed in silence and it never once felt awkward. Afterwards we ate the cookies my wife had baked and some brownies that others brought. It was way cool. I hope it was the start of a gathering that takes root and flourishes. Now we gotta figure out how to take this to the people.
